Our demands are derived directly from the goals and the underlying motivation: First of all, we need a political decision - in other words, the conviction and the will to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2035.
The municipality needs the resources and expertise to develop a plan for climate neutrality by 2035. The best option for this is a climate protection manager - either internal or external.
The next step is to determine exactly how far we are from the target by collecting current emissions data as accurately as possible.
This is followed by the development of the action plan, which identifies potential for savings and replacements, defines measures and their costs, and brings everything together in a project plan with clean project management.
Relevant community stakeholders should be involved and there should be transparency at all times about how far implementation has progressed.
Throughout the process, all stakeholders must constantly work on public communication, promoting the goals and communicating progress.
